This time, HBH’s annual company outing took place under the motto “Wine tradition in Radebeul”. We went to Radebeul, where there was plenty on offer both culinarily and culturally.
First, we visited the Schloss Wackerbarth winery, where we took part in a guided tour of the production facility. In addition to the history of winegrowing, we also learned interesting facts about wine production in the past and present. After we had learned many interesting facts and stories about wine production, it was of course time for a glass. After all, what has been learned must also be put to the test in terms of taste. Three wines of different styles were on the menu: from dry to sweet, we were presented with the whole range of local wines. During lunch, we consolidated what we had learned and enjoyed culinary highlights at Gräfe’s Wein & Fein.
In the afternoon, we had arranged to go on a wine tour with the company Sachsenträume. The tour skillfully combined landscape and wine, and we also learned a lot about the pitfalls of winegrowing through the centuries. Of course, there was also a tasting session to allow us to internalize what we had learned on the palate.
Finally, we stopped off at the Lößnitztalschenke to round off the evening in a convivial atmosphere. It was the end of a day full of culinary highlights that we will remember for a long time, both in terms of taste and the little stories about the local wines.
